During our meetings, we hold space for everyone to share announcements - whether people have a show, workshop, or sale, or whatever support, materials, space, resources one might need or have to share. This December, we skipped our monthly in-person meeting, but still had a lot of gatherings and news to share:
Fiber Club*
Common Thread, curated by Riley Klein, with the Gifts of Art Gallery at UM Health, begins December 16 through February 28. You can visit it during opening hours (essentially 24/7) at the Taubman Gallery at Michigan Medicine (the main UM Hospital in Ann Arbor). The show is located directly across from the Pharmacy. Thank you to everyone who is participating or supporting the show - 30 artists!
(Stay tuned - we will follow up about possible gathering dates/times to view and enjoy the show together - probably January/February!)

Andrew Wilson recently launched a fundraiser for his new interim residency initiative, the VOID, “a liminal space of resistance that prioritizes rest and community for creatives needing respite, space to convene and an atelier to bolster creative practice both in technical skill and professionalization.” Check it out.
Dot Jackson was featured on Friends of Friends, a new series about artists talking about their work and their friends’ work, by Molly Bernstein.
Unstable Design Lab features an experimental weaving talk series, which features a pretty incredible line-up of artists. The talks are available live over Zoom, for free. If you aren’t able to make those, they’re all recorded and available on YouTube!
OK! What did we miss? Please do share any of your announcements in the comments, plus any suggestions of what not to miss this month! What calls or opportunities - or good reads - have you seen that people should know about?
Of course, feel free to send any updates to us over Instagram so we can get the word out! Especially without an in-person meeting in December, we love finding other ways to gather and support this season.
